2006 HBS4A Scholarship recipient, Tuhina De O'Connor (Executive Director of the NY Asian Women's Center) had this to say after completing the program:
"I had the most amazing experience at Harvard. I feel re-energized and came back full of new ideas (staff are a little scared about this!) Seriously, the people I met, the faculty that taught, and the materials were all stellar. To be with, and read about wonderful non-profit leaders was truly inspiring.
I've had a forest from the trees experience, no doubt. Thinking about strategy and whether what we are doing is truly of social value, especially how we deliver the service is the big takeaway lesson for me. I can not thank you enough! I never would have been able to go to the program had it not been for your gracious scholarship. Thank you for your visionary thinking about Asian American Leadership in the Non-Profit area."
2007 HBS4A Scholarship recipient, Chi-Mei Lin (Executive Director of the Chinese Community Center in Houston) had this to say after completing the program:
"The intensive seven-day strategic perspective training was extremely beneficial and provided not only much sought after knowledge but also created a broader spectrum on how to turn the challenges facing non-profit management today, into opportunities and success.
Being the largest Asian non-profit in Texas, the Chinese Community Center has already benefited greatly from the experiences and lessons learned at the SPNM. The staff and I have already begun applying many of the practices from the training and added others into our 2008 annual plan/business plan. I also have shared my SPNM experience with the Board of Directors and other fellow non-profit agencies in the Houston area.
Without the scholarship, I, like other minority CBOs, would not be able to attend the prestigious training at HBS. I thank HBS4A for investing in Asian non-profit organizations. The seven-day stay at Soldiers Field was a once in a lifetime experience and will continue to impact my practice as a non-profit administrator. I can not thank you enough."

2008 HBS4A Scholarship recipient, Thoai Nguyen (Executive Director of the Southeast Asian Mutual Assistance Association) had this to say after completing the program:
"Coming out of the SPNM 2008 Program, I felt that it was the singular most valuable professional training experience that I have had. The program, although extremely rigorous and required the participants to be focused and conscientious, was very rewarding to those who took it seriously. I found myself constantly pondering both small and large strategic issues that I had already faced or will be facing in the coming years at SEAMAAC; the only difference was that at Harvard I had a vast community of like-minded practitioners around me to help me think through many of these issues.
For weeks after SPNM, I felt as if I was a walking commercial for both Harvard and the SPNM Program. One of the things I realized about this experience was that the reputation of Harvard is not merely a myth - not something that happened years ago, but something that is still happening this very day that speaks to its excellence."
2009 HBS4A Scholarship recipient, Alaric Bien (Executive Director of the Chinese Information and Service Center in Seattle) had this to say after completing the program:
"The SPNM experience was truly amazing! Scary and somewhat intimidating at first to be part of a group of such high powered, incredibly sharp and dedicated nonprofit executives from literally all over the world, but what a wonderful privilege to have access to all those resources and knowledge.
The professors were awesome - incredibly expert in their fields, inspiring, great teachers, and they really understand what it’s like to work in the real world of the nonprofit sector. I came back to CISC charged up and eager to put into practice what we learned during that short, but oh so intense week at HBS. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity!"
